Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose
To implement Corrosion & Integrity Management Services on Pressure Systems for the allocated assets/sites. These services must align with Oceaneering and Client’s documentary requirements and onshore/offshore legislation where applicable.
The RBI Team Lead is required to lead and drive the following within their area of expertise:
· Process standardization and simplification.
· Knowledge management and dissemination.
· Competency mapping and development, including training and mentoring programs for a world-class workforce.
· Adoption of innovative technologies, including AI-driven data analysis for integrity management.
· Compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
· Technical governance for inspection/integrity services, particularly in the corrosion management and RBI domains.
· Deliver value-added engineering solutions while reducing cost of poor quality (COPQ) and driving continuous improvement.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, client standards, and international codes.
· Perform Integrity Management, Inspection Management, Risk Assessment, and Corrosion Engineering activities for Pressure Systems as per client contracts.
· Lead the development and implementation of Client integrity strategy documentation, including Corrosion Management Plans (CMP) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for corrosion performance measurement.
· Conduct Corrosion Risk Assessments (CRA) for pipelines and facilities, with the ability to prepare related documentation such as Corrosion Control Documents (CCD) and Cathodic Protection (CP) plans.
· Provide corrosion expertise in developing corrosion loops, identifying damage mechanisms, assigning corrosion rates, and establishing Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) in collaboration with the RBI team.
· Conduct RBI studies using API 580 and API 571 principles and ensure assessments are carried out with advanced software such as One APM GE Meridium.
· Develop and update the asset Corrosion Management Strategy (CMS) and associated Corrosion Control Matrices (CCM) based on RBI outcomes.
· Deliver technical assessments and recommendations for corrosion mitigation, including corrosion rate modeling, coating selection, inhibitor usage, and water wash operations.
· Provide authoritative guidance on failure investigations, material/corrosion-related anomalies, and remediation strategies.
· Compile Integrity Status Reports, monitor trends, and prepare detailed documentation on corrosion status and mitigation plans.
· Mentor junior engineers, approve their work, and ensure technical excellence in deliverables.
· Drive innovation by integrating modern inspection technologies and AI-driven analysis into corrosion and integrity management practices.
· Act as a liaison with key clients in Middle East, ensuring adherence to their specific standards and protocols.
· Undertake site visits to assess, supervise, and ensure quality in execution.
· Support the Line Manager in achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables, contract management, and budget forecasting.

· Assist with tasks beyond core responsibilities as required by management.
· Undertake special projects or assignments as directed.
· Contribute to environmental and sustainability initiatives in operations.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
· Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline in a relevant subject (e.g., Metallurgical/Corrosion Engineering)
Certifications:
· Senior Corrosion Technologist (NACE/AMPP).
· API 580 Risk-Based Inspection.
· API 571 Corrosion and Materials.
DESIRED
· Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science in a relevant subject (e.g., Metallurgical, Corrosion Engineering).
· Additional certifications: API 510, API 570, or equivalent (ASME/CSWIP Plant Inspector).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
§ Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 13 years with a Master’s Degree.
§ Expertise in integrity management and corrosion control for oil and gas upstream/downstream facilities, including offshore platforms.
§ Proficiency in conducting RBI studies, corrosion assessments, and implementing strategies for high-pressure systems.
§ In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, API, NACE/AMPP).
§ Familiarity with QA/QC systems, NDT techniques, and advanced inspection technologies.
§ Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
§ Advanced knowledge of software tools such as One APM GE Meridium for RBI and data-driven insights.
§ Excellent communication skills to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
§ Proven ability to foster relationships with clients and contractors at all levels.
